How is the gold leaf so cheap on ebay?
Have you seen the gold leaf is sold on eBay by several vendors? They say it is 24k gold, but amounts of supply and 3 ounces at $ 150. At current gold prices must be at least $ 2500 – so is it real fake? I mean, ebay not allow it if it was fake … assuming that somehow it is real, how the hell removed that so cheap, what’s wrong with gold leaf in relation to the currencies, if the same weight, and why not sellers just get the gold leaf in smelting and refining gold coins, instead of selling at bargain prices? I just do not understand. EDIT: sorry – I mean GOLD FLAKE FLAKE are selling gold. I have heard that none of 24k or 999 of them pure. Perhaps only does the color gold? If that is the case, I can not believe ebay allow this!
Gold leaf is much more expensive than the spot price of gold, and that is because the blade is so thin that it is almost transparent and not all the same as gold. If you are viewing prices in weight, which are well below prices New York spot, you can bet something fishy. I would not go near him. If this is legitimate, most likely this is not true gold, but the imitation gold leaf. But here is a red flag: gold leaf is not sold by the ounce, usually sold booklets containing 25 sheets and is sold per square inch or square feet of coverage and not weight. You may have a crook in his hands.
