For hundreds of years, China and Japan have been the leader in the market saltwater Akoya pearls. In the early days of collecting pearls, it was difficult find pearls that was both high quality and had a perfectly round. Mikimoto was the man to develop and produce high quality round cultured pearls in Japan and the market has changed forever pearls.

Mikimoto began his first pearl oyster in 1888, where he began developing his method for creating round, high quality cultured pearls. After working with Mikimoto pearls began distributing these pearls crops in 1897 and further refined its methods. During these years, Mikimoto encountered some competition from some other biologists to develop their own techniques of pearls. Both Mikimoto and other scientists were using similar techniques in which to insert a piece of mantle tissue with a nucleus in the oyster produces a pearl to form. After a few fights and adaptations to the patents, Mikimoto made arrangements with another biologist in 1916 and was able to really develop your business.

Mikimoto spent many years honing his skills cultivation of pearls and it was worth. Mikimoto started growing classic white Akoya pearls and was a success. "His dream was a possible success with women around the world recognize the name of Mikimoto pearls and dressed in her everywhere.

This new technology for the development of cultured pearls really helped Japanese companies take off. In 1935, Japan had more than 350 farms producing high quality pearls cultured pearls by millions. Finally, the lifting of braking and Japan was left with an oversupply of pearls. Mikimoto pearls began promoting abroad in the United States and Europe. He opened designer boutiques in Paris, London, New York, Chicago and many other cities to make their first mark of the first Japanese brands that have international recognition.

Because pearls Mikimoto were cultivated and not "natural" that ran a lot of criticism. I was constantly defending their products by saying that her pearls were only of the highest quality. At one point, they even went so far as to publicly burned thousands of low-quality pearls to show that he sold only cultured pearls covered with pearls.
